THE AGENCE CÔTE D’IVOIRE EXPORT PARTICIPATES IN THE 5TH ANNIVERSARY OF FOOD’S CO SA, A CELEBRATION OF EXCELLENCE AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

On February 6, 2025, in the city of Beoumi, the Côte d’Ivoire Export Agency participated in the festivities marking the fifth anniversary of Food’s Co SA. This event, held at the company’s premises, was an opportunity to highlight the exceptional achievements of this agro-industry as well as its significant impact on the economic and social development of the said locality.

The festivities took place in the presence of Mr. Kobenan Kouassi ADJOUMANI, Minister of State, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, and H.E. Jessica Davis Ba, Ambassador of the United States to Côte d’Ivoire. From the Côte d’Ivoire Export Agency, Mrs. Marie-Michèle N’ZI, Project Manager, and Mr. Jean Marc Koblavi, Program Officer, were present. Also present were Mrs. Imelda TRAORE, prefect of the department, the prefectural body, as well as actors from the health and local development sectors.

In his speech, Mr. Tahirou SANOGO, General Director of the company, reminded that Food’s Co SA was created to generate jobs in Béoumi and to promote the involvement of all in the Ivorian economic fabric. Today, more than 600 jobs have been created in five years. Beyond social integration, education is also an important subject for Food’s Co SA, which is why it provided the city of Béoumi with a fully equipped kindergarten, named Jessica Ba Davis, inaugurated during the festivities.

The participation of the Côte d’Ivoire Export Agency in this event demonstrates its commitment to Ivorian companies that contribute to developing the export sector at the economic, social, and environmental levels.

Let us recall that Food’s Co SA specializes in the processing of cashew nuts. It produces more than 16,000 tons per year and exports 95% of its production. Its revenue has seen spectacular growth, rising from 1.6 billion FCFA in 2021 to 3.4 billion FCFA in 2023. The company was also awarded the excellence prize for the best exporting company in 2024 and the African Development Prize (PADEV) in 2021.

In addition to its economic performance, Food’s Co SA stands out for its commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR). With a ‘zero waste’ policy and a cashew shell recycling plant, the company produces household charcoal and cashew balm, while promoting the empowerment of women, youth, and vulnerable individuals. Of its 246 employees, 91% are women and 85% are young people.
