Financing Your Export Activity: Keys to Better Resource Mobilisation
Exporting is about conquering new markets. But behind every international order lie very concrete needs: sourcing raw materials, boosting production, building up stock, handling logistics, or managing extended payment terms. All these realities make financing a critical issue for any business seeking international growth.
It was around this major theme that the 14th session of Export Fridays took place on 28 April 2026 at the headquarters of the Côte d’Ivoire Export Agency, focused on the topic: “How to successfully mobilise resources for financing export activities?”
During this session, participants gained a clearer understanding of the financing mechanisms available to support their export operations, as well as the expectations of financial institutions and the essential requirements for building a solid financing application. Discussions also covered identifying financial needs at each stage of the export cycle and the importance of anticipating cash flow requirements.
Facilitated by Mr Rodrigue APPOH, Relationship Manager at the SME Credit Guarantee Company (Société de Garantie des crédits aux PME – SGPME), this meeting primarily highlighted an essential truth: beyond financial mechanisms, an export project is not built solely on a good product and a target market. It also requires the necessary resources to turn an opportunity into reality.
According to Mr Vamé COULIBALY, Director of Enterprise Competitiveness Development and Capacity Building, through Export Fridays, the Côte d’Ivoire Export Agency continues its commitment to building the capacity of Ivorian exporting companies and equipping them with practical tools to approach international markets with greater preparation and confidence.
See you at the upcoming sessions of Export Fridays.
