Agence Côte d’Ivoire Export receives a delegation from the Kingdom of Morocco
Agence Côte d’Ivoire Export received, this Tuesday, 24 March 2026, at its headquarters, a major delegation from the Kingdom of Morocco led by Mr Omar HEJIRA, Secretary of State for Foreign Trade, to the Minister of Industry and Trade.
This working visit is part of a mutual desire to identify new export opportunities and strengthen bilateral cooperation between Côte d’Ivoire and Morocco, with a view to revitalising their commercial and economic exchanges.
On this occasion, Mr Omar HEJIRA highlighted the need to build a strategic win-win partnership, allowing Côte d’Ivoire—currently the Kingdom of Morocco’s leading customer and eighth-largest supplier—to eventually position itself as its primary supplier.
To formalise this ambition, several areas of collaboration were defined, notably: the establishment of an economic drive group involving Agence Côte d’Ivoire Export, as well as public and private sector actors from both countries; the participation of Agence Côte d’Ivoire Export in the Economic Forum scheduled for June 2026 in Casablanca and the Export Fair in Fez in 2027.
The priority sectors identified cover high-potential industries, including: agro-industry, textiles, automotive, cosmetics, and handicrafts. Regarding agro-industry, particular emphasis will be placed on priority products such as cocoa and its derivatives, coffee, cashew nuts, tropical fruits (banana, mango, papaya, pineapple), as well as rubber and cotton.
The Moroccan delegation also included several leading figures, including Mr El MANSOURI KHALID, President of the Béni Mellal-Khénifra Chamber of Commerce; Mr BENABDALLAH HAMZA, President of the Fez-Meknes Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Mr HALHOUL NOUR-EDDINE, Minister Plenipotentiary at the Moroccan Embassy; as well as representatives from consular institutions and Moroccan professional organisations.
On behalf of Agence Côte d’Ivoire Export, the meeting was held in the presence of Mr Mamadou SAMASSI, Special Advisor to the Director General; Mr Marc LOBA, Technical Advisor to the Director General; Mr Jean GOSSE, Director of Strategic Partnerships and Resource Mobilisation; Mr Pierre André AMON D’ABY, Head of the Commercial Information, Economic Intelligence and Forecasting Division; Mrs Rami KONÉ, Head of the Trade Events Department; and Dr Jean Hugues AMICHIA, Assistant to the Director General, in charge of Monitoring and Evaluation.
For Dr Kaladji FADIGA, Director General of Agence Côte d’Ivoire Export, this meeting is fully in line with the national strategy aimed at positioning the Kingdom of Morocco as a privileged commercial partner. He recalled that in 2025, several prospecting missions were conducted in Morocco and resulted in the signing of a framework agreement with AMDIE on 23 December 2025.
Agence Côte d’Ivoire Export intends to capitalise on this opportunity provided by the Moroccan authorities to boost Ivorian exports to the Moroccan market.
