PROMOTION OF MADE IN CIV IN ABIDJAN FANZONES CAN 2023

The 34th edition of the Total Energies Côte d’Ivoire 2023 Africa Cup of Nations was held in Côte d’Ivoire, in 5 host cities, from 13 January to 11 February 2024. CAF and COCAN 2023 set up Fanzones across the country to enhance the fans’ experience. As part of this event, the Agence Côte d’Ivoire Export, the National Export Council (CNE) and ONU FEMMES provided two stands for Ivorian women-led SMEs in the two Fanzones in the city of Abidjan.

This activity, which took place at the Jesse Jackson complex in the Yopougon district and the Agora in the Koumassi district, aimed to showcase local products through the expertise of around thirty women-led SMEs. It also aimed to promote Made in Côte d’Ivoire to both the local and foreign populations.

In this vein, a delegation composed of representatives from the different institutions visited the various Fanzones on January 30, 2024, to show their support to the various exhibitors.

Dr. Kaladji FADIGA, Chief Executive Officer of the Agence Côte d’Ivoire Export, Mr. Serge BOMBO, Secretary General of the National Export Council, and Mr. Yacouba DOUMBIA, Program Manager at ONU FEMMES, were able, through their presence, to reaffirm their commitment alongside Ivorian women agro-processors.

By the end of the festivities, the Fanzones had welcomed 175,000 visitors, giving exhibitors the opportunity to market their products, meet new people and seize the business opportunities presented by the African football showcase
