Côte d’Ivoire has 8 airports, including 1 international airport (Abidjan Félix Houphouët-Boigny International Airport) and 7 national airports (Bouaké, Yamoussoukro, Man, Korhogo, San Pedro, Daloa and Odienné). The national airline “Air Côte d’Ivoire” operates a fleet of 10 modern, comfortable aircraft, 70% of which are new : 04 Q400 bombers, 03 Air Bus A320s and 03 Air Bus A319s. It serves six (06) local destinations and nineteen (19) international destinations as of 31 December 2022.

The many investments made (rehabilitation and construction of infrastructure, acquisition of equipment) have earned Côte d’Ivoire TSA (Transportation Security Administration) certification, which has enabled the opening of a direct route to the USA since 13 May 2018, in collaboration with Ethiopian Airlines. In addition, to expand domestic traffic, the construction of two (02) airports is underway in the cities of Kong and Séguéla.

 

By 31 December 2022, 27 international airlines were serving the country, including : Air France, Corsair, Royal Air Maroc, Emirates Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Tap Air Portugal.

 

Passenger traffic at Abidjan airport has increased from 961,643 in 2012 to 2,271,700 in 2019, thanks to rehabilitation, modernisation and development work. However, due to the consequences of Covid-19, it has fallen to 935,130 in 2020. There has been a gradual recovery since 2021, with overall passenger traffic reaching 2,091,355, including 102,782 domestic flights in 2022.
