On the sidelines of the 2nd Intergovernmental Preparatory Meeting (IPM) for Expo 2027 Belgrade, the Serbian Minister of Internal and External Trade granted an audience to a delegation from Agence Côte d’Ivoire Export, led by its Director General, Dr Kaladji FADIGA.
During the exchange, the Minister recalled the historic role played by Serbia—then part of Yugoslavia—in its relations with African nations. She reaffirmed her country’s enduring interest in the continent, and specifically in Côte d’Ivoire, while expressing her keen wish to see the country participate in Expo 2027 Belgrade.
The Director General of Agence Côte d’Ivoire Export highlighted the necessity of strengthening trade between the two nations, noting that current exchange levels remain relatively modest.
He stated that Côte d’Ivoire’s participation in Expo 2027 Belgrade would serve as a strategic opportunity to boost this cooperation. To this end, he suggested extending the Expo Assistance Programme to Côte d’Ivoire to facilitate its participation. The Minister provided assurances that the necessary measures would be taken in this regard.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Director General presented his host with a gift set featuring products that showcase Ivorian craftsmanship and expertise.
