On February 17 and 18, 2024, Mr. Marc LOBA, Technical Advisor to the Director General, Mr. Jean Marc KOBLAVI, Program Manager, and Mr. Charles KOFFI, Program Manager for Resource Mobilization, took part in the workshop to validate the National Foreign Trade Policy.
The opening ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including:
Kalilou SYLLA, Deputy Director General of the Ministry of Trade and Industry; Mr. Touré FAMAN, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Mr. Ahmed CISSE, President of the General Confederation of Enterprises of Côte d’Ivoire (CGECI); the representative of TradeMark Africa; representatives of the Ministries of Women, Family and Children, Economy, Planning and Development, and Foreign Affairs.
Organized by the Ministry of Trade and Industry, this workshop is part of a strategic approach aimed at positioning Côte d’Ivoire as a major player in regional and global trade.
The main objectives are to strengthen the competitiveness of Ivorian companies in international markets, diversify export markets and reduce dependence on certain sectors, and facilitate access to foreign markets through strategic trade agreements.
The participation of the Côte d’Ivoire Export Agency in this workshop highlights the importance of close collaboration between public institutions and private actors in building a resilient and prosperous export economy.
The event brought together 150 participants from various organizations, including the Ministry of Trade and Industry, the Ministry of Fisheries Resources, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of the Environment, CEPICI, GUDE PME, CODINORM, FIPME, INHP, AIRP, and individuals.
This workshop marks a key step in the implementation of an ambitious foreign trade policy aimed at strengthening Côte d’Ivoire’s position on the global economic stage.
