From 16 to 18 July 2026, Agence Côte d’Ivoire Export participated in the Halal Expo West Africa (HEAO), held in Abidjan under the theme “Promotion of investments and intra-OIC trade: challenges, opportunities and prospects for West Africa”. This event brought together key institutional and economic stakeholders committed to developing the halal ecosystem in West Africa.
The Agency’s participation was marked by the signing of a framework partnership agreement between Dr Kaladji FADIGA, Director General of Agence Côte d’Ivoire Export, and Mr Mohamed Djibril BELLO, Chief Executive Officer of HALAL Côte d’Ivoire. This partnership aims to strengthen support for Ivorian businesses through joint initiatives in training, capacity building, strategic information sharing, trade promotion and assistance with certification processes, in order to facilitate their access to regional and international halal markets.
The Agency also contributed to high-level discussions through a presentation by Mr Vamé COULIBALY, Director of Business Competitiveness Development and Capacity Building, on the topic “Financing Halal industrialisation in West Africa: certification, investments and access to international markets”. On this occasion, he reiterated that business competitiveness relies on structured support, compliance with international standards, capacity building and better export readiness—essential conditions for taking full advantage of the opportunities offered by the halal market.
Over the course of the three-day exhibition, the Agency’s teams also stepped up engagements with businesses, technical partners and investors to identify new areas of collaboration and promote the support mechanisms available to Ivorian economic operators.
Through this participation, Agence Côte d’Ivoire Export confirms its commitment to supporting businesses in improving their competitiveness, structuring the halal sector, and strengthening the presence of “Made in Côte d’Ivoire” on international markets. Driven by the continuous growth of the global halal economy, the Agency intends to pursue its actions to transform this potential into tangible opportunities for export growth and value creation for Ivorian enterprises.
